What Is 18. Permanent Dofollow Backlinks

The term combines three ideas: the quantity (18), the permanence of the link, and the dofollow attribute that tells search engines to follow the link and count its value. In practice, it means securing eighteen links from reputable domains that will not expire or be removed, and that are coded with the rel="dofollow" attribute (or simply no rel="nofollow" attribute).

These backlinks differ from temporary or “no‑follow” links, which either disappear after a short period or do not contribute to PageRank. Permanent dofollow links are typically placed on pages that receive regular traffic, such as editorial articles, resource pages, or high‑authority directories. Because they endure, they provide a cumulative SEO advantage that compounds over months and years.

Key Benefits and Why It Matters

Investing in a set of permanent dofollow backlinks yields several tangible advantages:

• Long‑term authority growth: Each link adds to the target page’s trust signals, and because the links stay live, the effect builds over time.
• Improved organic rankings: Search engines treat dofollow links as votes of confidence, helping pages climb higher in SERPs for targeted keywords.
• Referral traffic: High‑quality sites often have engaged audiences; a link placed in relevant content can drive consistent, qualified visitors.
• Resilience to algorithm updates: Sites with a diversified, permanent backlink profile tend to weather Google’s ranking changes better than those relying on short‑term tactics.

Moreover, focusing on a manageable number like eighteen allows you to maintain quality control. Rather than chasing hundreds of low‑value links, you concentrate on securing placements that truly align with your niche and audience.

Proven Strategies That Work

Acquiring permanent dofollow backlinks requires a blend of outreach, content creation, and strategic placement. Below are the most reliable methods that SEO professionals use today.

Guest Posting on Authority Sites

Writing original, high‑value articles for established blogs remains one of the most effective ways to earn a dofollow link. The key is to target sites with domain authority (DA) above 40 and audiences that overlap with yours. Offer a unique angle, include a natural link within the author bio or content, and ensure the host site does not apply a no‑follow tag.

Resource and Link Pages

Many educational institutions, industry associations, and niche communities maintain curated resource pages. These pages often accept submissions that meet strict relevance criteria. By providing a concise, well‑researched resource, you can earn a permanent placement that remains visible for years.

Niche Edits (Contextual Backlinks)

Instead of creating new content, niche edits involve inserting a link into existing, relevant articles that already rank well. This method leverages the existing authority of the host page, delivering immediate SEO value. It requires careful outreach to webmasters and a clear explanation of why your link adds value.

Business Directories with Editorial Standards

Not all directories are created equal. High‑quality directories that manually review submissions and allow dofollow links can be a source of lasting backlinks. Look for directories that are industry‑specific, have a clean URL structure, and no “nofollow” policies.

Broken‑Link Building

Identify broken links on authoritative pages, then pitch a replacement that points to your content. This win‑win approach helps the site owner fix an issue while granting you a permanent dofollow link. Tools like Ahrefs or Screaming Frog can streamline the discovery process.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Even seasoned marketers can slip up when building permanent dofollow backlinks. Recognizing these pitfalls early saves time and protects your site’s reputation.

• Chasing quantity over quality: A handful of links from high‑authority sites outweighs dozens from low‑trust domains.
• Using automated outreach tools without personalization: Generic emails are often ignored or flagged as spam.
• Ignoring relevance: Links from unrelated niches look manipulative to search engines and provide little referral traffic.
• Failing to verify the link attribute: Some sites claim to be dofollow but actually apply a no‑follow tag in the HTML.
• Neglecting anchor‑text diversity: Over‑optimizing with exact‑match keywords can trigger penalties.

Getting Started Step by Step

Follow this practical roadmap to secure your set of eighteen permanent dofollow backlinks.

1. Audit your current backlink profile. Use a tool like Ahrefs or SEMrush to identify existing dofollow links and gaps in authority.
2. Define target domains. Create a list of 30‑40 high‑authority sites that align with your niche, aiming for a mix of the strategies above.
3. Develop link‑worthy content. Craft pillar articles, infographics, or case studies that provide genuine value and can serve as link targets.
4. Personalize outreach. Write concise, tailored emails that reference the recipient’s recent work and explain how your content complements theirs.
5. Negotiate placement. Be clear about the dofollow nature of the link and confirm that the host will not add a no‑follow attribute.
6. Track placements. Maintain a spreadsheet with URLs, DA scores, anchor text, and dates of acquisition.
7. Monitor performance. After each link goes live, observe changes in rankings, organic traffic, and referral clicks over a 30‑day period.
8. Scale responsibly. Once you have secured ten solid links, repeat the process for the remaining eight, adjusting tactics based on what proved most effective.

Remember that patience is essential. Permanent backlinks may take weeks to appear after outreach, but the long‑term payoff justifies the wait.

Conclusion

Securing eighteen permanent dofollow backlinks is a focused, high‑impact strategy that can elevate a website’s authority, rankings, and traffic for years to come. By targeting reputable sources, delivering valuable content, and avoiding common shortcuts, you build a resilient backlink profile that stands up to algorithm changes and competitive pressure. Start with a clear plan, execute with genuine outreach, and watch the cumulative benefits unfold.
